Axel Schütt and klaus Finke won the WERC.
It was close race untill SS9 when Kurt Mejer and Vagn Aage Hansen ran into technical problems.
The Volvo was pressed to the limit. So much that the clutch gave up. The team had to withdraw from the rally. So Axel and klaus "just" had to finish the rally.
I bet they could hear many strange noises.
The winner went home with a check of 750€ and free start in 2016. Not bad for a season.
Season 2016 starts with Zuiderzee Rally the 19. March.
Not surprisingly it was a bit cold to be spectator or servicecrew at the rally. But we was well entertained. The Mitsubishi R5 sounds and looks great. Some more work and it will sparkle.
Woeter Ploeg and Harm Van Koppen is leading after this first round. But its close. The next rally is longer and will give more points.
The organizers behind TAC needed very long time to decide if they wanted to stay as rally in the cup. But luckily the board said yes in the end. And they also said yes to sponsor the pricemoney to the drivers.
TAC is famous for the narrow roads and fast flying corners. And the startlist is normally filled with exciting cars such as WRC, R5, S2000 and and many more.
Despite the effort we didnt manage to get a deal in house with the swedish organizers. But we will try to persuade them to for a cooperation in 2016.
After 21 stages covered by all sorts of weather the winners could be celebrated at the huge party in rally headquarter.
The stages friday was covered by darkness, fog and wet tarmac. Many drivers was having trouble. Both staying on the road but also to see anything.
Both Gerben Brouwer and Kurt Mejer needed only to survive to win the cup.
Everybody had a good time.
Congratulation to all the winners and hopefully see you again next year.
